Atlans

The underwater map linking Noria to Tarkan, with monsters from level 43 to 74 and the first big difficulty jump in the game.

Updated on August 10, 2026

Atlans is map 7, the water field below Noria. It is where most characters spend the level 60 to 130 range: the monsters at the entrance have 2,400 health and the ones at the far end reach 9,000, so the map follows your character for a long time without needing a change of scenery.

The map applies the underwater state to whoever walks in, which changes the animation and the way you move. It does not change damage or defense, but it changes the feel of the game: everything looks slower than on land.

How to get there

Three doors lead to Atlans, and the Noria portal is the cheapest because it costs nothing beyond walking up to it.

Who lives here

Seven species, split into two clearly separated blocks: three monsters from level 43 to 46 in the upper part and three from level 66 to 70 at the far end, plus the Hydra, the rare monster of the map. The numbers below are the design values from the server. During the closed test the monsters are temporarily weaker than that.

Health of the Atlans monsters
  • Bahamut2.400 health
  • Valkyrie3.200 health
  • Great Bahamut7.000 health
  • Lizard King9.000 health
  • Hydra19.000 health

The Hydra is the toughest target on the map and the most wanted: 19,000 health against the 9,000 of the Lizard King, and only five of them on the whole map. Anyone arriving in Atlans at level 70 with reasonable gear can kill Bahamut and Valkyrie without taking hits; Great Bahamut and Silver Valkyrie ask for around level 90.

What drops here

Atlans has a quirk almost nobody notices: no jewel drops on this map. The jewel drop group and the excellent item group only apply from monster level 76 up, and the strongest monster in Atlans is the Hydra, at level 74. It misses by a hair.

  • Zen on half the kills, proportional to the monster experience.
  • Random item on 30% of the kills, inside the level range of the monster that died.
  • Silver Medal at 0.5% from monsters level 20 to 75, meaning everything here except the Hydra.
  • Gold Medal at 0.2% from monsters level 45 to 110, meaning from the Vepar up.
  • Symbol of Kundun +2 (monsters 47 to 65) and +3 (66 to 77) at 0.3%, which is the material for the Kalima Lost Map.

That makes Atlans one of the best places in the game to hunt medals: almost every species on the map sits inside both ranges at the same time, and the medal opens into gear already refined from +4 to +9.

Is it worth it?

It is, and for a long while. Atlans covers more levels per square meter than any other map in the classic game: you can arrive at 60 and leave at 130 without changing screens. 32 regular spots and 4 hot spots are marked on the minimap, so finding a cluster costs you nothing.

In favor
  • Covers a huge level range, from 60 to 130.
  • Best medal map in the game, because almost everything falls in both ranges.
  • Free entrance through the Noria portal, no Move cost.
  • It is on the way: it is the only bridge between Noria and Tarkan.
Against
  • No jewel drops here. The top of the map is level 74 and the cut is 76.
  • Maze like terrain, with plenty of walls: moving around manually is annoying.
  • After level 130 there is no reason at all to stay.
