Jewels

Bless, Soul, Chaos, Life, Creation, Guardian, Harmony and Gemstone: what each one does, at what chance and where it comes from.

Updated on August 10, 2026

The jewel is the real currency of MU. Zen you pile up killing anything; a jewel is what separates an item that dropped from an item that is finished. There are ten definitions on the server, and they split into three jobs: raising level, giving options and being an ingredient.

  • 10jewels on the server
  • 30per space on the stackable ones
  • 0.1%chance of the jewel group in the drop
  • 0.5%Gemstone in Kanturu

Where you get them

Five jewels come from the same place: the jewel drop group, which runs on every map at a 0.1% chance per eligible monster. The group has ten members, so not every time it hits does a jewel come out: it can be a Guardian Angel, an Imp, a Uniria, an Ale or a Town Portal Scroll.

The global jewel group only runs on monsters of level 76 and up, and that is the number that rules in practice. Each jewel still has its own drop level in the definition (12 on the Chaos, 25 on the Bless, 30 on the Soul, 72 on the Creation), but they all sit below the group cut, so from Tarkan on all five drop at the same chance, from Lorencia to Kanturu.

The Jewel of Chaos is the case that changed. It carried a level 66 ceiling in its definition, while the jewel group only counts from 76 up: the two conditions excluded each other and it dropped from no monster at all, being an ingredient of almost every Chaos Machine recipe. The ceiling was removed and today it drops alongside the other four.

Stacking up to 30

Five jewels stack: Bless, Soul, Chaos, Life and Creation, up to 30 per space. The number that shows in the corner of the icon is the piece count, and it lives in the item's durability field.

  • Stacks only merge in the inventory. Vault, trade and personal store keep the stack as it is, without joining it.
  • Two stacks only merge if they are identical, same item and same level.
  • Crafting counts pieces, not spaces. A stack of ten Souls satisfies a recipe that asks for ten Souls, and what was not used stays.
  • Selling a stack pays for the whole stack. That used to be a bug and it was fixed.
  • Guardian, Gemstone, Harmony and the two refine stones do not stack. Each one takes a space.

What each one is worth

These are the buying values. Selling to an NPC pays a third of that, and the price is already multiplied by the stack size.

The Gemstone drops in Kanturu

The Gemstone is the base of everything named Harmony, and for a long time it had a single source: the repeatable random quests from the Elf Soldier, offered only between level 260 and 289. Past 289 the source vanished for good, which in practice left a level 400 character with no path at all. Now it has a permanent source: it drops in the Kanturu Ruins and in the Kanturu Relics, at 0.5% per monster, from monsters of level 93 up.

It is a drop group of its own on those two maps, separate from the global jewel group, so the chance is five times that of a common jewel and it does not compete in the draw with Guardian Angel, Imp or potions. In the Ruins it counts from the Kentauros (93) up; in the Relics the whole map is past the cut, except for the traps.

With the Gemstone back, the whole chain comes back with it: refining at the Elphis Refinery to become a Jewel of Harmony (80% success), the Harmony options on weapon, armor and shield, the level 380 Guardian option, the Seeds, the Seed Spheres and the whole socket system. The two refine stones already had their own recipe at Osbourne and now they are good for something, because there are Harmony options for them to raise.
