Potions and consumables

What to drink, what to keep and the items that solve problems: potions, orbs, scrolls, quest items and utilities.

Updated on August 10, 2026

A consumable is anything that disappears after use. In MU that goes far beyond potions: it is how you learn a skill, it is how you get back to town and it is what opens the door to half the events. This page splits them by job, because that is how you use them.

Potions

Potions take a single space and stack up to 255 units. That changed recently: they used to stack up to three, which filled the inventory for nothing. They are all bought from the Potion Girls in the towns and drop from monsters starting at the level shown.

PotionMonster levelDrops from monstersWhat it is for

Large Complex Potion118yeshealth and mana
Antidote10yescures poison

The shield potion deserves attention because a lot of people ignore it. The shield (the SD bar) absorbs 90% of every hit you take and only regenerates on its own in a safe zone. Outside town, the only way to fill it is the potion. In a long fight, it is worth more than the health potion.

Utilities worth an inventory space

ItemSizeWhat it does
Town Portal Scroll1x2back to town on the spot; it drops with the jewel group
Ale1x2an event drink, it also comes from the jewel group
Lost Map1x1access to Kalima, it goes up to level 7
Symbol of Kundun1x1five pieces become a Lost Map
Life Stone1x1a recipe result, a Fenrir ingredient
Fruits1x1redistributes stat points; a recipe result

The Symbol of Kundun is the most consistent farming consumable in the game: it has seven drop brackets, all at 0.3% and on every map, and the bracket that drops depends on the monster level. It is the natural path to Kalima and it does not depend on an event or on a schedule.

Orbs: how you learn a skill

A skill in MU does not come on its own when you level up. It comes from an orb, a scroll or a weapon. Orbs are for the physical classes and for the Dark Lord; scrolls are for the magic ones. The use is the same: double click with the item in the inventory, and the skill joins your list forever.

Above those there are two more recent batches, both level 400 and restricted to the third class: the thirteen orbs of the third class base skills, at 500,000 zen each, and the twenty orbs of the Season 20 attack skills, at 600,000 each. They drop from high level monsters and they are sold too.

Scrolls: the skills of the magic classes

The scrolls are all 1x2, they drop from monsters and they are sold. What decides whether you can use one is the energy requirement, which climbs fast: the Scroll of Fire Ball asks for 40, and the Scroll of Nova asks for 1,052.

Quest and event items

These are not used: they are handed in. They are all bound to the character and the server keeps at most one of each per character, so there is no point in piling them up.
