Ancient sets

How the set bonus lights up with 2, 3 and 4 pieces, what each of the 36 old sets delivers and why a failed piece drops out of the count without warning.

Updated on August 10, 2026

An ancient item is a common armor piece that dropped marked: it gains a stat bonus of its own and starts belonging to a set. Wearing pieces of the same set turns on effects in a ladder, and that is where ancient stops being 'a slightly better item' and becomes the mid game power jump. The server has 36 classic ancient sets, all built on top of the Season 6 armor lines.

  • 36ancient sets
  • 2pieces for the first bonus
  • +5 or +10individual bonus of the piece
  • 2sets per armor line

How the bonus lights up

Every set declares a list of pieces and a list of bonuses. Every bonus carries a number, and that number is the step where it comes in: the server applies every bonus whose number is less than or equal to the amount of pieces worn minus one. In practice the ladder is always the same.

Set pieces wornWhat turns on
1only the individual bonus of that piece, no set bonus
2the first bonus step
3the first and the second step
4the first three steps
every piece on the listall bonuses at once, without going through the step math

The count is of different pieces. Two copies of the same boot do not count as two pieces. Several sets give more than one effect on the same step, and in that case they all come in together: that is why the 4 piece step is usually the most loaded on the list.

That same behavior once caused a known problem on the top sets: the client redid the requirement test on the already equipped piece using the normal level, which caps at 400, against pieces that ask for 500 or 600 total level. The pieces failed the count and the set stayed gray forever. The calculation now adds the master level and the problem is fixed, but it illustrates the mechanism well: whoever fails the test does not count, and does not complain.

The individual bonus of the piece

On top of the set bonus, every ancient piece carries a bonus of its own on one stat, rolled at the moment of the drop between two levels: +5 or +10, fifty fifty. That bonus counts even with a single piece, and it is the only gain ancient gives before you gather the second piece.

  • On the classic sets the stat varies by piece: strength, agility, vitality or energy, according to the design of each line.
  • On the mastery sets of the new line the individual bonus is always vitality, 5 or 10.
  • Not every ancient piece has an individual bonus. The Gywen Pendant is the example cited in the code itself: it is ancient, it belongs to the set and it carries no stat bonus.
  • Ancient also adds +20 durability to the piece, against +15 from excellent.

Two families on the same armor line

Every classic armor line feeds two different ancient sets, and the same piece can belong to one or the other. Leather pants can be Warrior or Anonymous; what decides it is a marker written on the piece the moment it drops, called the discriminator. Two ancient Leather pants that look identical can belong to distinct sets and never add up together.

The 36 sets

The bonuses appear in step order: the first on the list comes in with 2 pieces, the next with 3, and so on, with several effects able to share the same step. Where the piece is marked with (2), it is the variant of the second set of that line.

What is worth building

Sets of 2 or 3 pieces close fast and already deliver almost all of their value, because the design puts the big effect on the first step. Sets of 5, 6 or 7 pieces ask you to give up the rest of your equipment and only pay off when the complete list lights up at once.

Closes fast
  • Fase, 3 Silk pieces: +100 health, +100 mana and +100 defense.
  • Cloud, 2 Brass pieces: +20% critical and +50 critical damage.
  • Elvian, 2 Wind pieces: +30 agility and +5% ignore defense.
  • Minet, 3 Sphinx pieces: +30 energy, +30 defense, +100 mana and +15 skill damage.
Asks for the whole set
  • Heras, 6 Sphinx pieces, includes its own weapon and shield.
  • Apollo, 7 Pad pieces, with two accessories tied in.
  • Warrior, 7 Leather pieces, weapon and ring included.
  • Odin, 5 Wind pieces, the only 5 piece set made of armor only.
