Frequently asked questions
The questions that come up the most, answered in two lines, with the path to the article that goes deeper into each one.
Updated on August 10, 2026Every answer here was checked against the server configuration, not against MU tradition. Where the answer today is different from what will hold at launch, that is said in the answer itself. The cards at the end of each block lead to the full article on the subject.

About the server
Is there reset?
Character reset does not exist and will not exist. The game engine has the feature, but it is turned off by a decision of the project, and that is exactly why the ranking on the site is by total level instead of a reset count. What does exist is the stat reset, which gives back all of your stat points so you can redistribute them without touching your level.
How much does the stat reset cost?
1,000,000 zen, with no minimum level requirement. You need to be in a safe zone, and when you apply it the server sends the character to town and disconnects you to save the change. All the points go back to the pool, with each stat falling to the base value of your class.
Does the server have a wipe?
It can, yes. Zaikan is in closed testing, in the alpha phase, and the home page itself warns that bugs and wipes can happen at this stage. The open beta comes when the content is solid, and there is no date yet. Play in this phase to get to know the server and to secure your nick, not to build up a fortune.
Is there an item shop that gives an advantage?
Not today. The cash shop window exists in the client, on the X key, but the system is not turned on in the server: there is nothing for sale for real money and nobody can buy power. If and when that changes, it will be announced, and the wiki will record exactly what is sold.
How do I report a bug?
Through the Discord of the server, which is the official contact channel and where the team follows the reports. It helps a lot to say the character name, the map, the approximate time and the step by step to repeat the problem. A screenshot is worth more than a description.
Can I play alone?
You can, and that is how most people play. The MU Helper takes care of attacking, drinking potions, picking up items and recasting buffs while you watch, and the spots marked on the minimap take the character to a good hunting point with one click. A party takes up to 5 players and splits the experience, so it only pays off when the group kills much faster than you do alone.

Progression
What is the max level?
The normal level locks at 400. After it the master level begins, which goes up to 1100 and has a bar and a formula of its own. Adding the two, the ceiling of the character is 1500 of total level.
What is total level?
It is the sum of the normal level with the master level, and it is the number the server checks in every requirement above 400. A map like Nixie's Lake asks for 630 of total level, Deep Dungeon asks for 770, the evolution to the fourth class asks for 800 and the fifth asks for 1200. The character panel shows the total already added up.
Why did I stop gaining master experience?
Two locks explain almost every case. Master experience only counts if the character is already third class and has the normal level at 400, and only a monster of level 95 or more pays that bar. Hunting a weak monster after 400 leaves both bars standing still.

Items and equipment
How do I make a wing?
Every wing is born in the Chaos Machine, with the Chaos Goblin in Noria. The first generation comes out of a chaos weapon with an option plus a Jewel of Chaos, and the second one asks for a first generation wing, a Jewel of Chaos, a Loch's Feather (which drops in Icarus) and 5,000,000 zen, with a ceiling of 90% success. The third is made in two steps, going through the Feather of Condor and the Flame of Condor.
And the fourth and fifth generation wings?
They work, and the rates are the ones the client shows: 40% on the fourth and 30% on the fifth, with generation 2.5 at 60%. The price follows: 20 million and 30 million zen per attempt, and 12 million on the 2.5. All three ran at 1% success because of a configuration error, which in practice stopped anyone from making those wings. That has been fixed.
Where do I get a jewel?
The main source is the global jewel group: 0.1% chance, and only on a monster of level 76 or more. The first place where this really applies is Tarkan. Outside farming, Chaos Castle pays jewels as a reward, the Red Dragon of the invasions drops Bless, Soul and Chaos, and some boxes carry a jewel in their content.
Why does the medal never give me a jewel?
Because it rolls on the equipment list, not on the jewel one. The Silver and the Gold Medal are equipment boxes: in 80% of the openings out comes a weapon or armor that is already refined, and in the other 20% out comes zen. Jewels live in a separate group that only exists from monster level 76 up.
Why can I not equip my item?
There are four causes, in this order of frequency. The piece may not be of your class; the level requirement may be above 400 and therefore charge total level; you may be missing stats (on the top weapons it is enough to meet strength or energy, but a mastery shield charges energy and only energy); or you may be trying to put a bow in the wrong slot, since bow and crossbow go in the main hand and arrow, bolt and quiver go in the secondary one. The panel paints red the piece that failed one of those tests.
How do I get mastery equipment?
Today, you do not. No mastery piece falls from a monster, no armor, no weapon, no shield, and none comes out of a Chaos Machine recipe. The way to earn that equipment is a mechanic of its own, still being designed. Until it exists, the ceiling of what you can build by playing is a classic ancient well refined, with harmony and socket, plus the six classic top weapons, which now drop from monsters.
Where do I get the Fenrir material?
In Crywolf, and only there. Splinter of Armor drops at 10% on the three Scouts, Bless of Guardian at 10% on the two Werewolves and Claw of Beast at 3% on Balram and Soram. Set the time aside: the three steps of the recipe do fail and the material is lost on the failure, so one Horn of Fenrir costs on average 952 Bless of Guardian, 952 Splinter of Armor and 67 Claw of Beast, something like 9,500 kills.
What is gear score?
It is a single number that sums up the strength of your equipment: each piece adds points for tier, refining, excellent options, luck, ancient and sockets, and the gear score of the character is the sum of the twelve pieces. From it comes the rank, which appears in the character panel: Recruit up to 299, Veteran from 300, Elite from 900, Champion from 1500 and Legend from 2200. A complete top character gets close to 2900.

Maps
How do I get into Icarus?
Icarus is the flying map: without a wing you do not get in, and the server refuses the entry even with the level in order. Once that is done, there are two routes: the Move window, which asks for level 170 and charges 10,000 zen, or the portal in Lost Tower at coordinate (17,250), which asks for level 160 and is free. The way back is through the portal at (14,12), in Icarus itself.
Why are Ferea and Acheron open to any level?
It is a leftover from the test phase. The two were designed to ask for 420 of total level and 380, but in the production database the requirement of both is recorded as 1. You can get in today, and you are going to die fast: the monsters there are still of the level the map was built for.
Where do I get Gemstone and Jewel of Harmony?
The Gemstone drops in the Kanturu Ruins and in the Kanturu Relics, at 0.5% on a monster of level 93 or more. The Jewel of Harmony does not drop: it comes out of the refining of a Gemstone at the Elphis Refinery, with 80% success. That is what opens the Harmony options, the Guardian option of 380, the Seeds and the whole socket system. The repeatable quests of the Elf Soldier still work as an extra source for anyone between level 260 and 289.

Still in doubt
If your question is not here, two places solve most of the cases: the glossary, which translates the slang of MU, and the list of beginner mistakes, which gathers the traps that make people waste time. For the rest, it is worth asking on Discord.
