Pets and mounts

From the Guardian Angel to the Divine Spirit: what each creature gives, how you get it, how it levels up and which skills it grants.

Updated on August 10, 2026

A pet in MU is not decoration: it is an equipment slot with a permanent effect. Most of them sit in the pet slot and simply apply a bonus while worn. Two of them, the mount and the Dark Lord raven, are different: they level up, they earn experience along with you and they become part of your damage.

  • 255durability on every pet
  • 50maximum level of the trainable pets
  • 20%of your experience goes to the pet
  • 9pets with a combat effect

The Imp is the pet the game shows as Satan. It, the Guardian Angel and the Horn of Uniria are the only ones that drop from monsters, and they are also in the jewel drop group, so they show up early. Everything else comes from the Chaos Machine or from an event.

To survive
  • Spirit of Guardian: minus 30% damage taken, the best in the game on that line.
  • Guardian Angel: minus 20% and plus 50 health, and this one drops from monsters.
  • Horn of Dinorant: minus 10% damage and plus 15% damage, the middle ground.
To farm
  • Pet Panda: plus 50% experience.
  • Pet Skeleton: plus 30% experience and 20% damage on top.
  • Pet Unicorn: zen received times 1.5, the only one that touches money.
To hit
  • Imp: plus 30% damage, straight up.
  • Demon: base damage times 1.4 and attack speed.
  • Horn of Fenrir: it flies, it runs at 17 and it unlocks Plasma Storm.

The pets that level up

Dark Horse, Dark Raven, Divine Horse and Divine Spirit have an experience bar of their own. They go up to level 50 and the curve is quite steep.

experience for the next level = level x level x level x 100 x (level + 10)
Formula used by the four trainable pets.
  • The pet takes 20% of the experience you earn. With both out, mount and raven, each one takes 10%.
  • Every level gained adds +1 to the raven or horse level stat, and that stat is what feeds the damage.
  • The raven requires command to be used, and the requirement grows with it: pet level times 15, plus 185. A level 50 raven asks for 935 command.
  • ⚠️ Zeroed durability makes the pet lose experience. The server cuts the bar to 90% of its current value, respecting the floor of the level, and its behavior resets. Keep the creature repaired.
What the pet level does for the Dark LordThe math
Raven minimum damagebase 180, plus command divided by 8, plus 15 per level
Raven maximum damagebase 200, plus command divided by 4, plus 15 per level
Raven attack speedbase 20, plus command divided by 50, plus 0.8 per level
Raven hit ratebase 1000, plus roughly 1.07 per level
Earthshake damageplus 10 per mount level
Defense while mounteda bonus of its own added to your final defense while you are riding

The raven attacks on its own within a radius of 7 tiles, hits up to 3 targets per round and the interval between rounds shrinks as its attack speed goes up. There are four behavior modes: idle, attack a random target, attack along with the owner and attack a specific target.

Divine Horse and Divine Spirit

They are the evolved versions of the mount and the raven, brought from Season 20. Both ask for level 300 and are exclusive to the Dark Lord. What they give is not a stat bonus: they give skills, and that is the only option they carry in the original source.

PetSkills it grantsDifference from the classic one
Divine HorseEarthshake and Divine Aurathe defense and damage reduction options are 10% stronger than the Dark Horse ones, and it has an exclusive third option that adds up to 7% defense at level 50
Divine SpiritDivine Forceit is the raven required by the Spirit Blast, which does not fire with the classic raven out

The raven activated from the inventory grid

In the classic design the raven takes the off hand, which is the same space as the shield. Here that changed: you can activate the raven straight from the inventory cell, without moving it and without giving up your shield.

  1. 1Find the raven in the inventory

It sits in a normal grid cell, it does not need to be equipped.

  2. 2Right click the cell

That turns the creature on or off.

  3. 3The active cell gains a gold outline

It is the visual mark that the raven is out.

  • The grid raven attacks, deals damage and levels up normally, exactly like the equipped one.
  • One raven at a time counts. If you already have a raven in the off hand, activating another from the grid is refused.
  • Selling, dropping or storing the active raven takes it out of play on the spot.
  • ⚠️ With a shield equipped, other players do not see your raven. You do. The appearance packet has one place per slot, and there the shield is what shows.
  • ⚠️ The durability of the grid raven does not drop when it hits. What loses durability is the equipped item.

The Fenrir and the four colors

There are not four Fenrirs: there is a single item and four different options that can be attached to it. The color you see is a consequence of the option.

VariantHow it is bornWhat it gives beyond the basics
Redthe freshly made Fenrir, with no optiononly the flight and speed 17
Blackevolution using a weaponplus 10% damage
Blueevolution using an armor pieceminus 10% damage taken
Goldfour options at the same timemaximum health and mana each add half your total level, physical damage adds total level divided by 12 and magic damage adds total level divided by 25

Any evolved variant also raises movement speed from 17 to 19, the highest in the game.

Where the material comes from

The three steps ask for Splinter of Armor, Bless of Guardian and Claw of Beast, and all three drop in Crywolf, each one from a different monster bracket. It is the only map in the game that drops them.

MaterialWho drops itChance
Splinter of ArmorHammer Scout, Lance Scout and Bow Scout (97)10%
Bless of GuardianWerewolf (118) and Werewolf (Hero) (127)10%
Claw of BeastBalram (132) and Soram (134)3%

Brace yourself for the volume. Counting the 30% and 50% failures of the first two steps, a single Broken Horn consumes on average 286 Bless of Guardian, 286 Splinter of Armor and 20 Claw of Beast, which comes to something close to 24 thousand Werewolves killed just for the Bless of Guardian part. The Fenrir is the most expensive mount in the game in time, and it is that way on purpose.
